Support for the tourism industry
With over 1000 businesses dealing in accommodation, restaurants and leisure activities, a turnover of 1 billion euros and 1.5 to 2 million visitors every year, tourism is plays a very important part in the local economy of the West Hérault and the Languedoc-Roussillon in general.
In this context, the Béziers-Saint-Pons CCI advises and guides members of the tourism industry to help their development and ease the implementation of their projects. It offers them solutions for installation, management, modernisation of premises and marketing of their services. It is closely involved in making the offer professional and coherent.
With the help of its local partners and authorities, it fulfils a mission to represent the interests of businesses and focuses on structuring and promoting a wide-ranging quality tourism offer across the West Hérault.
Guidance and advice for tourism businesses
Representing businesses, the driving force in the development of local tourism
The CCI represents businesses :
The CCI promotes the businesses within its remit at trade fairs and shows, notably those in neighbouring regions (Bouches du Rhone, Massif Central, etc.)
The CCI acts as a coordinator in the promotion and marketing of the tourism offer in conjunction with its institutional partners such as OTSI, CDT, etc.
Part played in structuring and enhancing the tourism offer
In the CDAT (departmental commission for tourism development), the CCI advises on classifications and other administrative affairs, as well as on hotel sites (CDEC) which can influence the development of the tourism offer.
Alongside its institutional partners (regional council, departmental council, regional nature park, “Pays”, etc.), the CCI takes part in drafting tourism actions or projects which help to structure the area: tourism signposting along the Canal du Midi, creation of coast-hinterland links, Valros service area project.

The Hérault Chamber of Agriculture is a consular agency with a dual mission :
Within the scope of these 2 missions, the Chamber of Agriculture undertakes actions to develop holidays on the farm in the framework of the “Bienvenue à la Ferme” network (Welcome to the Farm).
The Chamber of Agriculture also undertakes moves to describe, identify and advertise local products and farm produce.
These are products made by the farmer members of the Bienvenue à la Ferme network, the “Tourisme Vigneron” (Wine Tourism) points on the Languedoc-Roussillon, or ones which are part of the “Vitrines des Terroirs d’Oc” operation, a showcase for local produce.
The Chamber of Agriculture supports the FARRE network (eco-friendly rational agriculture forum), rational agriculture schemes (notably Terra Vitis and Goût du Sud) and organic farming.
Within the department’s interconsular committee, the Chamber of Agriculture makes an active contribution to the development of the “Qualité Hérault” label.
